Five support congregations provide off-site support such as meals, volunteers, and other services. Congregations interested in becoming a host church should contact MCIHN. |

Each family is treated as a guest and given a private room set up in the congregation's building with beds supplied by MCIHN. Volunteers from the host congregation and other support congregations share dinner and breakfast with the families and provide overnight, on-site support with a spirit of warmth and hospitality. Congregations become temporary homes in which families are treated as guests, and individuals are accepted as they are. In this environment, guests are able to maintain their dignity. The kindness of hosts helps to diminish the hurt of homelessness, and both volunteers and guests grow and learn from each other.
